I Don't Wanna Face It (but Stevie is)

I don't wanna face it.  No no no no no.  GO AWAY SNOW.  GO AWAY.

Two more weeks until a Chicago escape.....thank goodness for that!  How is everyone else coping with eternal winter?

So let's chat about Fleetwood Mac.   Their tour starts in April.

Just for fun, I looked up what shows will be playing in Chicago in April.  Of course...Fleetwood Mac's Chicago concert is on April 13th while we are in Chicago....and their concert is sold out.  arrghhh!!!  Why wasn't I on the ball sooner to get tickets?  Well I guess we didn't actually book our trip until a few weeks ago but .....  maybe some extra seats will open up before the concert?  Maybe?

Stevie is doing an interview tonight with Oprah, I'll be watching that.  I am sure Stevie is sick of answering endless questions about her relationship with Lindsey Buckingham which ended more than 35 years ago so maybe if Oprah asks all the right questions, people will stop asking?  If not, we'll have to keep reading between the lines...

Rolling Stone had a weekend poll asking which Fleetwood Mac song was best.  I thought long and hard because I have SO MANY FAVORITES and frankly it changes all the time.  In the end, I went with Sara and Go Your Own Way.   Such a tough choice.

What's your favorite FM song?

  1. Landslide. Think the woman is a genius, she still sings it better than anyone including Dixie Chicks who I love too. Funnily enough Stevie just stands there when she sings and you get more from it than the video of Dixie Chicks with all their special effects. In fact its the song I want at my funeral...if I ever die. (sorry being a Debbie Downer here.) Stevie Nicks must be incredibly private, I never hear anything about her.

    1. Landslide is fantastic too, the version from The Dance live album (1997) is my favorite. I think Sheryl Crow produced the Dixie Chicks version? They all did a good job with that one.

    3. I think the video one might be a later version but basically the same thing!

  2. I can't think of one. Either I am not a huge FM fan or my husband singing the Eagles on his guitar upstairs is affecting my ability to think.

I am super sick of winter too. SOOOO done with it.

    1. Maybe you can start singing "Life in the Fast Lane" to Hubby (which I read somewhere is rumoured to be about Stevie and Lindsey!) ha ha

I know, this has been the most brutal winter ever.

  3. Oh I love Fleetwood Mac! We wore out rumours in 1977! Try and see if you can get a ticket on street - they might go cheap once they start...

Favourite Fleetwood Mac - the chain
    Favourite Stevie - landslide

    1. I might have to do that...I already told Hubs not to book anything for that Saturday night *just in case*

I actually have the Rumours record (and the CD) but still have to buy a turntable! Actually there's a place in town here that sells new turntables, Hubs checked out the store last week (it happens to be just down the street from my workplace) so we'll probably buy one there after our trip. He said the owner really knew his stuff.

  4. I was never a huge fan, so it would have to be Go Your Own Way because it's the one I've heard the most! I need to feel some sun and warmth, desperately.

  5. I actually like the more recent songs - "Everywhere" and "Little Lies". Lucky you to be going to Chicago! This winter has been brutal, it would be so nice to get away for a little bit.

    1. Those are great songs too. There's two awesome extended remixes of Little Lies and Family Man that I love.

  6. You have to pretend you're teenager again and go stand outside and toe tap, that's what I did in my younger days!

  7. You can buy your Fleetwood Mac tickets online via StubHub. They list 490 tickets available. I've bought tickets from them several times, it is totally legit.

Chicago is fun, I hope the weather is nice because it can be so cold when the wind whips down the Magnificent Mile.

I think my favorite FM song is Songbird, but I've always preferred Christine McVie over Stevie Nicks.

    1. ooh I am going to check that site out - thanks xoxo!

Christine McVie had great songs, I wish she would come back to do a one-off tour or something.

I hope the weather is nice in Chicago too, but I'm just glad to get out of here for a week!

  9. I've been a FM fan since I was a teenager in the seventies. I lived in the middle of Ohio, so there were several huge concert venues all around me. It was GREAT! I don't think I can pick a favorite...I like them all.
