Organized Closet

I had a request for photos of my walk-in closet after I had finished decluttering and cleaning.  Brace yourself, this is the tidiest it has ever been!

It does look a bit bare, but will be painted this spring.  After almost 3 years, I am tired of the beige-y peach colour.  I need a shoe shelf, that's on the spring list too.   And I have some art work to be put on the walls.

We recently bought a new bookshelf to house all my books....which were previously stacked in piles in the closet.  I will post a photo once it is assembled....we haven't gotten to that part yet.  ;)

Happy Weekend everyone, thanks for reading and commenting!

  1. that's impressively tidy.

Now if you would just like to pop over to my house, to sort out my wardrobes to look as tidy as this...I'll open the Champers and we can sip and chat and tidy!

    1. LOL thanks! I will have to check out Costco - I would like either dark espresso brown or black shelves.

  3. That looks beautiful - you must feel happy every time you go in there! How nice to see all your accessories out as well as clothes - makes picking an outfit much more fun I'm sure when you can see what you've got rather than trying to remember the contents of, say, a scarf draw. Very inspiring! xxx

  4. I love pared down shelves and racks, I couldn't live with a wardrobe crammed to the gills.
Oh there are books piled up everywhere here.

    1. Our furnace room still has most of Hubs' books in there...that situation will have to be dealt with soon!!

  5. Oh God, you're so organised! Must be lovely being able to just saunter in and find stuff so easily. We have thousands of books, and not enough shelving - I think Mr SK was thrilled when I finally got a Kindle! Have a great weekend.

    1. I wish I was this organized about everything else! ha ha I am interested in getting a Kindle eventually but too bad I can't test one out first...I would like to get used to it before committing to buying one.

  6. How do you resist the urge to fill it? My closet is jam packed!

    1. oh my closet was in an embarassingly bad state after Christmas/New Year's...it was awful. Piles everywhere, it became a dumping ground for stuff. I'm still getting used to the open space myself!

  8. Your closet looks vast and I have a slight tinge of closet envy brewing.
It must be wonderful to have shelving and space for your accessories and shoes.
Do you find that you can get dressed faster with this system?

  9. Gosh, I don't think I've ever seen a walk in that wasn't stuffed to the gills. If you can be that disciplined with all that space, I wonder what you would do with an armoire! I'm well impressed. I know folks who would kill for that space for an en suite loo - or even a sewing room!

    1. I know, I am very lucky! :) I can't let it become a dumping ground again though! Have to keep up with decluttering, otherwise things can get out of control...especially with books and paper!

  10. This is so serene, how do you edit so well? I still have most of my clothes from when I was sixteen. I can't bear to part with them and just keep filling suitcases when the closet starts spewing garments into the rest of the room.

    1. I had to be ruthless, not serene! ha ha :) I find that I wear mostly the same clothes over and over so I just had to get rid of the clothes I don't wear anymore or were a bit worse for wear. That said, I still have my graduation dress from high school!
