Top 25 Duchess Looks from 2011

Important Disclaimer:   This post was originally my Top 20 picks, but it would change every time Duchess Catherine would wear a fabulous new ensemble, or I would remember an outfit she had worn earlier in the year!

Another Disclaimer:  I would wear every single one of these ensembles.  Even the evening gowns, if I had somewhere to wear them to!

So, my favorite Duchess Catherine fashion picks from this year are:

  1. Oh I love Smythe jackets and I would love to own the Temperley dress. I would like to see her ditch the nude shiny tights but I understand that it befits her status - the nude shoes which she has sickened me for and the awful heavy black eyeliner.

  2. I love the Canada Day outfit and was so impressed that she reused items to make the fascinator. She seems like someone you could chat with, if you were so lucky as to be sitting next to her. It's incredible how she is almost always smiling that genuinely happy smile.

I want those boots she is wearing with the red suit in look #3. Do you have the details?

  3. B & P - LOL she is definitely a fan of the eyeliner! I prefer just a top line with the eyeliner and I've noticed Kate is slowly starting to do the same.

Xoxo - Aren't those boots fabulous? And I do have the details because I want them for myself! :) They are the Aquatalia by Marvin K 'Rumba' weatherproof boots, they are available at Nordstrom (but only certain sizes left)....will have to check other sites for more stock. A little $$$ but great quality, I have the Aquatalia ankle boots and they are Fab.

I think Kate has done a superb job handling herself in her new public role and clearly Will adores her. Their Canada tour was wonderful.

  6. Oh, what a wonderful post. I LOVE looking at her fashion, always spot on...

The Erdem lace dress and the wedding dress are my faves, hands down. :)

I guess I have a thing for lace. LOL.

BTW, thank you for all your sweet comments at my blog lately, much appreciated!

  9. Helen and Closet Crisis - I agree with you both - I just love Kate's style. She's bringing back much needed class and glam to fashion!

Dina - thanks and as you can tell from my picks, I have a thing for lace too!

Mrs. Exeter - glad you enjoyed it and it was fun for me to look up her outfits. Very hard to choose my top 25, there are still outfits I like that didn't make it on to the list!

Pop Champagne - thanks for your comment (great blog name btw), kate is a great role model for women and being presentable at all times.

  11. Wonderful. Love everyone of those.
The red scarf one reminds me that I wish I was in PEI..sigh. How I love it there.
    Have a happy new year!

  12. Jennifer -- oh yes, the yellow dress was fab too! I also can't wait to see what she does in the New Year, especially with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics. Happy New Year to you too!

Annie - Happy New Year! I would love to visit PEI, it's on my vacations list.

  13. Love every outfit here LR and truly believe Kate was born for this role. As others also comment...hope she tones down the eyeliner a tad otherwise she's 11/10.

  14. I don't watch TV or read style mags, so this was a great overview for me. Thanks! She is truly a classy looking lady and wears almost anything to perfection. And she looks incredibly skinny (maybe almost too?)--not that it takes away from anything. Wow. To have such a wardrobe, huh? (the fact that I end a sentence with "huh" is proof enough said wardrobe will never mine be). ~~Bliss

  15. Red Roses - I agree, Kate seems to be very natural in front of the cameras.

Bliss - Glad you enjoyed it! oh I would love to have Kate's wardrobe...so many wonderful items!

  16. She is a beauty, isn't she? I could love her just for bringing hosiery back into fashion, but she has done far more than that. Looking at your collection, I would say I'm not fond of the wedge heels except for with the jeans. They look matronly on her, I think. I love all those outfits otherwise. You're right, the black velvet is tops - you can almost feel the lush texture just looking at it.

  17. Thanks for a beautiful post. I adore everyone single one of these outfits but I'm sure if you posted everything she's ever worn in the public eye there wouldn't be a bad one!

  18. Shelley - the black dress is so simple yet so effective!

Fiona - there hasn't been an ensemble that I've turned my nose up at yet! lol
